Australia Post suspends your postage to the US and Puerto Rico
Today, Australia Post has announced a suspension of postage items to the United States and across America because of President Donald Trump’s suspension of duty-free treatment for low-value shipments, which could have significant consequences for many Australian businesses.
It has been 293 days since President Trump was elected, and these changes for postal services demonstrate the need for the Albanese Labor Government to get a meeting with the United States President to discuss the tariff dispute immediately.
Shadow Minister for Communications, Melissa McIntosh MP said, “the decision to suspend duty-free status for certain shipments is due to the on-going tariff dispute and could have massive economic impacts on Australian businesses.
“Australia Post is our national postage service, and the Albanese Labor Government should front the media for questions on behalf of the Australian public immediately, but it seems like they don’t know what’s going on.
“It begs the question: why hasn’t the Prime Minister met with the United States President Donald Trump to discuss the tariff dispute which continues to have more direct impacts on Australia’s economy?”
