LIBERALS COMMIT $4 MILLION TO NETBALL UPGRADES AT JAMISON PARK
An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $4 million to upgrade netball facilities at Jamison Park – the home of netball in Western Sydney.
This will fund the implementation of a masterplan to increase participation in netball locally and allow Jamison Park to host regional and state-level netball matches.
Shadow Minister for Western Sydney and Federal Member for Lindsay, Melissa McIntosh, said netball is more than just a sport, given its role in bringing our entire local community together, whether they be players, coaches or supporters cheering from the sidelines.
“Jamison Park is the home of almost 4,000 netballers across Western Sydney and these upgrades will ensure future netball stars of all ages and abilities have access to great facilities,” Mrs McIntosh said.
“We have so many teams playing in our terrific Penrith District Netball Association, from St Marys to Emu Plains and out to Warragamba and back to Jordan Springs."
Liberal candidate for Macquarie, Mike Creed, said “this will be a big win for netballers across Emu Plains, Emu Heights and Leonay.”
Liberal candidate for McMahon, Carmen Lazar, said “these upgrades will also benefit players at the St Clair and Erskine Park netball clubs.”
Penrith District Netball Association President, Joy Gillett OAM, said the existing facilities haven’t been upgraded for many years and are now outdated.
“We thank Melissa McIntosh and the Liberals for committing to this important project,” said Ms Gillett.
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
